Major Threats to Vulture Population :
Exposure to pesticides is probably the main threat for vultures. Information about this threat is sparse and geographically biased. The most used pesticides affecting vultures are carbamates and organophosphorus.
Quarrying and stone blasting in hills and tops destroys their nests.
Painkillers like diclofenac make their eggs brittle and destroys their kidney.
Vulture conservation plan 2020-2025 is going on and there is a need to do more. Diclofenac was banned in 2006.
