Launch of Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan: -

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan, aimed at implementing basic schemes in tribal-majority villages across 550 districts. The event took place in Hazaribag, Jharkhand, where he also laid foundation stones for other projects benefiting tribal communities.

Objective of the Abhiyan:-

This initiative is part of the PM Janjatiya Unnat Gram Abhiyan (PM-JUGA), approved by the Union Cabinet as a comprehensive package to implement existing schemes in 63,000 Scheduled Tribe-majority villages.

Reference to Birsa Munda:-

The package is named after Birsa Munda, a key anti-colonial tribal leader from Jharkhand, often referred to as Dharti Aaba. Modi launched the package from "the land of Bhagwan Birsa Munda," highlighting his government’s commitment to tribal welfare.
