Jehangir Ratanji Dadabhoy Tata, commonly known as J.R.D. Tata, was an influential Indian industrialist and philanthropist. Born on July 29, 1904, he played a pivotal role in the development of the Tata Group, one of India's largest and oldest conglomerates.


J.R.D. Tata was the first licensed pilot in India, and he founded Tata Airlines, which later became Air India.


A visionary leader, J.R.D. Tata received several awards for his contributions to industry and society. He was also a key figure in the establishment of the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR) and the Tata Memorial Hospital.
