6)Make tests free, ICMR tells private labs :- The Union Health Ministry has made it mandatory for private institutions to notify COVID-19 patients while the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has appealed to private labs which have approached them to offer the test for free.
ICMR is India’s apex scientific body for the formulation, coordination and promotion of biomedical research.
It was established in 1911 as Indian Research Fund Association (IRFA) making it one of oldest and largest medical research bodies in the world.
The ICMR functions under Department of Health Research, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
It is headquartered in New Delhi.
Its Governing Body is presided over by Health Minister.

The Archaeological Survey of India is an Indian government agency attached to the Ministry of Culture that is responsible for archaeological research and the conservation and preservation of cultural monuments in the country.
It was founded in 1861 by Alexander Cunningham who also became its first Director-General.
It regulates all the archaeological activities in the country as per the provisions of the Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act, 1958 and the Antiquities and Art Treasure Act, 1972.

9)A prediction model for COVID-19 :-
An infectious disease dynamics model called SEIR (Susceptible-Exposed-Infectious-Resistant) was used to model and predict the number of COVID19 cases.
The SEIR model proved to be predictive for a variety of acute infectiousdiseases like Ebola and SARS.
The model classifies the population into four mutually exclusive groups: susceptible (at risk of contracting the disease), exposed (infected but not yet infectious), infectious(capable of transmitting the disease), and removed (those who recover ordie from the disease).
What is Incubation rate and Removal rate :- The incubation rate (the reciprocal of the average duration of incubation) is the rate at which latent individuals become infectious;
and the removal rate is the reciprocal of the average duration of infection.
What is BRN (Basic Reproduction Number ) :-
The basic reproduction number (BRN) is the expected number of cases directly generated by one case.
A BRN greater than one indicates that the outbreak is self sustaining, while a BRN less than one indicates that the number of new cases decreases overtime and eventually the outbreak will stop.
Ideally, the BRN should be reduced in order to slow down an epidemic.
10)News :- Navy to get four more P-8I aircraft from May
The Navy will start receiving four more P-8I long-range-maritime reconnaissance-Anti-Submarine Warfare aircraft from Boeing from Mayand the process will be completed by January 2022, according to Navy sources.
India is getting this as per COMCASA agreement.
What is Comcasa Agreement :-
COMCASA stands for Communications Compatibility and Security Agreement and is one of the four foundational agreements that the U.S. signs with allies and close partners to facilitate interoperability between militaries and sale of high end technology.
COMCASA is an India-specific version of the Communication and Information on Security Memorandum of Agreement (CISMOA). It comes into force immediately, and is valid for a period 10 years.
COMCASA allows India to procure transfer specialised equipment for encrypted communications for US origin military platforms like the C-17, C-130 and P-8Is. Currently, these platforms use commercially available communication systems.
