Mangarh Dham is well-known because of the British Indian Army’s massacre of tribals in 1913.
On November 17, 1913, the British Indian Army opened fire on protesters demanding the abolition of the bonded labour system and a reduction in heavy agricultural taxes imposed by princely state rulers, killing approximately 1,500 Bhil tribals and forest dwellers.
Govind Guru, a social reformer, led the tribals in southern Rajasthan
